Finding the Exercise that is Motivating and Healing for Yourself
During my battles with my intestinal issues, I have learned the importance of exercise for my health, healing and overall well being. I jog on the eliptical machine about 5 times a week for 30 minutes. I can see a big difference in my emotional state throughout the day when I do some form of physical activity when I wake up in the morning. I have a more positive attitude and outlook on life and am able to deal with challenges in a more calm state of being. Sometimes it is tough to get motivated to get up and move in the morning, but I just try to remember the feeling of how I feel when I am done and how much smoother my day will go. I do believe you also have to find a physical activity that you are passionate about. I have found my love for martial arts. I have earned a brown belt with one stripe, and I am so proud of myself. I enjoy going to train once a week. This is my time to do what I love to do. When I am passionate about what I am doing, I believe this positively impacts my overall health and well being. I think it is also beneficial to try new activities to keep it fresh and enjoyable. I am thinking about trying to learn yoga with a dvd in my home. I thought it may help with the mind body connection on my healing journey. I'll keep you posted. Have you found an exercise or physical activity you are passionate about?
